Something free to try this week
Be A Super Dad has a new home, a free course, and a few tools you can use today
Hi everyone,
I've been quietly building something for a while, and it's finally live. Be A Super Dad has a proper home now, at beasuperdad.com. It's for dads who love their kids and still don't always know what to do next, which is most of us, most weeks.
The part I most want to tell you about is free.
It's a short course called The Dad You Want To Be. It starts with a simple question: when you're 80, what do you hope your grown-up children will say about you? From there we turn that hope into things they can actually see and feel this week, work out one pattern worth watching, and get you ready for the next time it shows up. Five short lessons, at your own pace, and your answers stay on your device. You finish with a one-page Dad Plan: the values you want to live by, the pattern to watch for, and the words you can use to repair when you get it wrong.
There are a few other free tools on the site too, and none of them need an account. The Dad Reset gives you ten minutes to slow down one hard moment and prepare for the next repeat. The Pressure Pattern Check takes about two minutes and shows whether pressure tends to come out as shouting, going quiet, giving in, or carrying everything on your own. And there's a short repair guide, After You Shout, for the apology that holds the boundary and drops the defensive "but".
Have a look when you get a ten minutes, and start with whatever feels most important. If it helps, the kindest thing you can do is pass it on to one other dad who's finding things heavy right now.
More soon,
Gareth
