This is great. Thanks for being so open. The amount of times my wife has said something and I didn’t get it straight away, but her be proven right, definitely leads me to trust her instinct and intuition

The career advice really hit me. Since becoming a dad I really struggled trying to figure out what I wanted my career to look like. Trying to balance career ambitions, with parenting, and with the stress of providing for my family has been hard to juggle. Now looking back with hindsight, I realize that if I hadn't spent so much time stressing and planning for things, I could've realized my passion and what I wanted in a career vs being a parent would look like a lot sooner.

I've only been a parent for 4 years so fortunately the balance struggle hasn't been for too long. But now 4 years later, my career looks WAY different than I thought it would but I've never been happier. I've realized some of the career milstones I was aspiring to hit weren't as important as I thought they were 4 years ago and some of the other milestones I've hit on the parenting side turned out to be much more inspiring and fulfilling then I thought they would be. Parenting is a crazy ride but I'm eternally grateful to be on it!

Love this and the fact you're wrestling through the messiness of it honestly.

Many don't do that and keep desperately fighting against the inevitable despite it tearing everything down around them.

My career looks like nothing like I expected but it's vastly more fulfilling and better than I ever could have imagined. Letting go was the key to making that happen.

Eight kids!!!!!!!!!! That would scare a man thinking of fatherhood. 😄 I like this advice, thank you.

If I’d known I was going to have eight, I don’t know what I would have done. It’s truly a blessing though. Can’t imagine life without them.
